judith Greenberg Educational consultantSpecial Needs Advocacy

As an advocate for your child, Dr. Judith Greenberg uses her expertise and knowledge of the laws and school systems to help secure the best services and accommodations.

With decades of experience and having acted in the capacity of an educational advocate throughout the US and countries abroad, Dr. Greenberg can advise you as to what to expect in an Individual Education Plan Meeting (IEP), a section 504 Plan meeting, at mediation and if Due process is a good option or not.

She will help you to understand each step of the process including: eligibility meetings, testing results, goals and objectives, Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), Section 504, Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE), and Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).

Questions you should ask an educational consultant, might include the following:

  • What is the role of an advocate and when should a parent consult one?

  • How do I get an IEP meeting, when my school has ignored my previous requests?

  • Who can come to meetings with me so I don't feel like it is just me against twelve people from the school?

  • How can a parent prepare, what do I bring to an IEP eligibility, testing review, or IEP (504) meeting?

  • Can a parent suggest goals and objectives for the IEP? How do I do this?

  • What does a "meaningful" education mean?

  • How do meeting goals & progress reports, relate to report cards?

  • How can I be certain my child has a good IEP? What does one look like?

  • Can I ask for a different service provider if the one at the school is not following the IEP or 504 plan?

  • What do I do, if the school does not follow the 504 or IEP plan and my child continues to plummet?

Dr. Judith Greenberg can and will answer these questions and more, and guide you through this process. You should not be expected to know everything the school does, nor should you have to do their job for them. Dr. Greenberg can go with you to meetings or attend by phone to help you help your child be all that he/she can be.
